  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
The Method
Quick easy and simple, follow this method for that merry delight:
  1. Use a sharp knife to remove the zest from the oranges (make sure this is done in strips).  Then proceed to juice the orange into a large pan.
  2. Add the red and white wine to the pan with the orange juice.  Place all the other ingredients into this pan; the orange zest, ginger, cinnamon sticks, demerara sugar and ground cloves.
  3. Make sure your stir to dissolve the sugar
  4. Cover the pan and heat it over a medium-high heat until heated through but make sure you don't boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to a medium -low temperature and heat for an hour until all the flavours become infused together.
  6. If you like you can add more sugar until you have reached your desired sweetness or even serve with a splash of brandy for that required taste.
